The Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) of Badung Regency plans to expand the reach of its ‘Kontak Bupati’ digital complaint service to the village and sub-district level. This strategic move is intended to accelerate the response and handling of every report submitted by the public in real-time. “The Kontak Bupati service currently only reaches the district level. Going forward, the service will be expanded to the village and sub-district level so that the handling of public complaints can be carried out more quickly, precisely, and responsively,” said Head of Diskominfo Badung, I Ketut Gede Arta, on Wednesday (15/7/2026). This expansion effort is driven by the local government’s commitment to optimising the use of communication technology to realise digital governance. Strengthening digital channels is considered an absolute obligation in improving the quality of public services that are adaptive to citizens’ needs. “The public can choose a complaint channel according to their needs. It is the obligation of the local government to continuously improve the quality of public services,” Arta said. Currently, Diskominfo Badung has integrated various public complaint centres, ranging from emergency handling to dedicated telephone lines. All these channels are deliberately prepared so that residents have many effective access options for reporting obstacles in the field. “All these services are expected to be utilised optimally by the public so that complaint management becomes more effective. The various integrated complaint services include the 112 emergency service, Call Center 1500092, SP4N-LAPOR, and Kontak Bupati,” Arta stated. Diskominfo Badung has also partnered with 25 Community Information Groups (KIM) owned by several village governments regarding this service. The socialisation was held in the 3rd Floor Meeting Room of Diskominfo Badung on Tuesday (14/7). The high dynamics of problems in urban areas have also prompted Diskominfo to involve various local security elements at the village government level. The presence of community elements and field officers is expected to cut through the bureaucracy of problem handling without being bound by official working hours. “The complexity of issues does not recognise working hours. Therefore, fast coordination is needed so that every public complaint can be immediately followed up by involving elements such as Linmas, Pecalang, Bakamda, Babinsa, and Bhabinkamtibmas,” said the former South Kuta District Head. Through this socialisation activity, the local government hopes that KIM members can play an active role as strategic partners in disseminating this official complaint programme. The information educated to the public must have a clear objective so that the relevant technical agencies can directly provide solutions. “The narrative we convey must have an impact and a clear outcome. So there is relevance between the information conveyed and the follow-up by technical agencies, vertical agencies, and other related institutions,” Arta explained.
