Badung Regency Allocates Rp 20 Billion for Bingin Beach Redevelopment
The Badung Regency Government has commenced the process of reorganising the Bingin Beach area in Pecatu Village, following the earlier demolition of dozens of illegal structures in the area. The tourist destination in South Kuta will be redeveloped into a green zone equipped with parks.
"Yes, we are already in the process of arranging it. We guarantee the redevelopment will begin this year," said the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency for Badung Regency, I Nyoman Karyasa, when confirmed on Friday (17/7/2026).
The regional government has allocated a budget of Rp 20 billion through the 2026 Regional Budget. The tender process is currently in the rebuttal period, with 25 participants competing for the project.
"The budget has been prepared until a tender winner is announced. In the ongoing tender process, there are already 25 participants competing to undertake the project," Karyasa added.
The Badung Public Works Agency is currently finalising the detailed design and master plan for the Bingin Beach redevelopment. Physical work will begin with improvements to the access road leading to the beach area.
"The initial stage involves repairing the road to Bingin Beach. However, the details are still under discussion," said the Head of the Cipta Karya Division at the Badung Public Works Agency, Ni Kadek Dwi Lantari.
This year, the redevelopment will focus on preparing the site plan to regulate facility zoning. The initial phase includes utility works, facility layout, and the construction of public toilets.
"This year, the focus is on the site plan, utilities, and toilets. In the future, there are plans for vegetation or parks that will make Bingin Beach a new destination," Dwi Lantari added.
Previously, Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa instructed his staff and the Pecatu Village Government to preserve the environment and maintain the comfort of the strategic tourism area. Intensive coordination was held at the Badung Government Centre to ensure the redevelopment aligns with spatial planning.
"We want tourism development in Badung to proceed in harmony with environmental conservation and to always consider spatial planning. Synergy among all parties is key to realising a quality, sustainable Bingin Beach that remains a source of pride for the people of Badung," Arnawa stressed.
The coastal area redevelopment follows the demolition of 48 illegal structures, including villas, restaurants, and homestays, in July 2025. The operation, conducted jointly with the Bali Provincial Government, targeted buildings that lacked permits, violated green zone zoning regulations, and stood on regional government assets.
