The Badung Police Resort (Polres) has mapped several tourist areas in northern Badung that are predicted to experience increased visitor numbers during the Lebaran 2026 holiday. Special security measures will be implemented at several tourist attractions across the Petang, Abiansemal, Mengwi and Kuta Utara regions.

“Our projection identifies eight Tourist Destinations (DTW) that require security attention within the Badung Police Resort jurisdiction. These attractions stretch from the north at Bangkung Bridge in Petang, Sangeh, Mumbul Park, Taman Ayun, and along the coastline from Cemagi to Petitenget,” said Kompol I Gusti Nyoman Sudarsana, Head of Operations at Badung Police Resort, on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Sudarsana stated that 176 personnel will be deployed during Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, running from 13-25 March. The police will also establish Service Posts at Mengwi Terminal and Security Posts at Mangupura.

“All of this is to cover the area from Badung’s western entrance bordering Tabanan to the eastern boundary with Denpasar. There will be 21 personnel stationed at the Mengwi Terminal Service Post and another 21 at the Mangupura Security Post,” Sudarsana explained.

In addition to tourism security, Badung Police will tighten surveillance of commercial vehicles during the holiday exodus. Under a Joint Ministerial Decision (SKB), freight vehicles are prohibited from operating between 13-21 March 2026.

“Starting 13 March, freight vehicles will not be permitted to operate in accordance with SKB regulations. However, vehicles transporting basic necessities, essential staples and fuel will continue to be allowed to pass through,” Sudarsana added.

Badung Tourism Department Head I Nyoman Rudiarta stated that several tourist attraction operators are prepared to handle the surge in visitors during the Lebaran holiday. He expressed optimism that tourists will continue to arrive despite the current challenging global geopolitical situation.

“We remain optimistic that after the religious holiday, domestic tourists will still be our hope during the holiday period. Certainly, from the various locations we visited, most have made preparations beyond their usual standards to welcome visitors,” he concluded.
