Badung District Government Provides Rp2 Million Per Household for Muslim Community to Celebrate Eid al-Fitr
Badung, Bali — The Badung District Government (Pemkab) in Bali has provided social welfare assistance totalling Rp2 million per household (KK) for the Muslim community ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
“This assistance represents our commitment to ease the burden on the community, particularly those of Islamic faith, in Badung District as we approach Eid al-Fitr,” said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa in a statement in Kuta Utara, Badung, on Tuesday.
The district hopes the assistance will help Muslim households cope with the typical price increases and inflation that occur around major religious holidays. “We also hope that with this support, the community’s well-being, harmony and prosperity will improve, as this will be one measure of success for Badung,” said Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa.
The Head of Badung’s Social Services Department (Dinsos), I Gde Eka Sudarwitha, explained that the number of households receiving the Eid al-Fitr social welfare assistance this year reaches 6,518 households. “This assistance is distributed to Muslim residents across the sub-districts: Abiansemal (186 households), Kuta (1,887 households), South Kuta (2,470 households), North Kuta (1,278 households), Mengwi (542 households), and Petang (155 households),” he said.
