The Badung Regency Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) have dismantled illegal concrete structures in the coastal area of Seseh Beach, Cemagi Village, Mengwi District, Badung, Bali. Officers discovered the construction of foundations for an unauthorised cafe situated on assets belonging to the local government.

The Head of Badung Satpol PP, I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, confirmed the demolition of the building foundations, noting that heavy machinery was deployed to the site. “The enforcement action involving this morning’s demolition is a preventive measure taken before further construction occurs. We acted early to prevent more massive development,” Suryanegara stated on Monday (18/5/2026).

Reports indicate that the concrete structure extended right next to the sacred temple (Pura Keramat) at Seseh Beach. The site was reportedly intended for a restaurant named Seseh Beach Cafe. According to inspections conducted by the Badung Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), the foundations were built on Badung Regency Government land, positioned between the sacred temple and the shoreline. The building was also reportedly intended to function as a coastal monitoring post.

Suryanegara noted that the Badung Regency Government has not yet determined the long-term designation for the land. He added that officers are currently focused on restoring the area’s aesthetics by levelling the remaining debris from the demolished concrete structures.

Badung Satpol PP ensured that all formal procedures were followed prior to the demolition, including the issuance of warning letters and summoning the developers. “We went to the site to request that the developers dismantle it themselves, and they attended our office for clarification. There was no resistance, and they agreed to the demolition,” said Ida Bagus Ratu, Head of the Investigation and Inquiry Division of Badung Satpol PP.

Ratu added that due to the developers’ limited funds to carry out the demolition themselves, the process was taken over by Badung Satpol PP. The demolition was attended by government officials and witnessed by representatives from the Badung District Attorney’s Office (Kejari).
