Badly hurt man found in dumpster

JAKARTA (JP): South Jakarta residents found a critically
injured 19-year-old man stuffed in a dumpster, with his head
covered in a plastic bag, his body riddled with welts and his
hands bound.

Villagers in Kandan, who found the victim, identified as
Maulana Joko Priono, on Jl. Kavling Polri, Block G., took him to
nearby Fatmawati Hospital.

"His attacker or attackers thought that he was dead. They must
have no idea that this young man is still alive," Manim, head of
the neighborhood community in Jagakarsa whose residents found the
boy, said.

Several small children found the man in the dumpster and
alerted adults that they found a dead body.

When Manim saw that the body was still twitching, he quickly
asked for help to transfer the body to Fatmawati Hospital.

Hospital sources said the man was admitted to the intensive
care unit. He remained in a coma on Friday afternoon. (ylt)
