Badak LNG sweeps five IQSA 2026 awards
Badak LNG has won five awards at the Indonesia QHSE & Sustainability Award (IQSA) 2026 in Jakarta on Friday (28/8), in recognition of its consistent efforts to strengthen safety culture and implement digital innovation in managing SHEQS and business sustainability. This marks the third consecutive year that Badak LNG has received IQSA recognition since 2024.
The awards include Bintang 5 IQSA 2026, The Best Innovation Technology in QHSE and Sustainability in Business 2026, and The Best QHSE Team and Safety Culture 2026. President Director & CEO of Badak LNG Achmad Khoiruddin was also named The Best CEO in QHSE Excellent 2026, while Director & COO of Badak LNG Feri Sulistyo Nugroho received the title of The Best QHSE Director 2026.
“These awards serve as motivation for all employees and management to continue making improvements. This achievement also demonstrates that Badak LNG’s efforts are on the right track in integrating innovation with plant safety performance,” said Feri in a statement in Bontang on Saturday.
Badak LNG has operated for 19 years without a work accident resulting in a Lost Time Incident (LTI). To strengthen its Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Security (SHEQS) culture, the company has developed various innovations through its continuous improvement programme (CIP), ranging from digital applications for risk monitoring to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) that can be monitored via mobile devices.
Lead Specialist SHEQ MS of Badak LNG Anto Yamashita said the technology development is aimed at supporting operational needs while strengthening risk control. “These innovations are not merely about applying technology, but also about addressing field requirements, simplifying work processes, improving risk control, and adding value for the company,” he said.
Badak LNG also applies the principle of Good Safety is Good Business in its plant operations. This principle is considered increasingly important in line with the planned plant reactivation, which requires enhanced safety, reliability, and production aspects to maintain the company’s operational excellence.
