Bad loans
Bad loans
From Suara Karya
The government has taken effective measures to deal with bad
loans involving both state-owned banks and private banks. The
cases have been taken to court and the debtors are blacklisted
and banned from leaving the country.
As a citizen of this country I would like to give some
suggestions for consideration.
* The Central Bank might have to update the blacklist listing
the names of companies, management boards, share holders, so that
banks could make good use of the list.
* Those parties or individuals recorded on the blacklist
should not be given further bank facilities.
* Many banks do not bother to refer to the blacklist made by
the Central Bank and extend credit to blacklisted customers. This
is surely a great advantage to the customers concerned.
* By imposing sanctions on negligent banks, the customers will
have little chance to obtain credit and they will be forced to
pay their debts.
