Bad Debt Case: Three BPR Cirebon Officials Detained by Prosecutors
The case of non-performing loans at BPR Bank Cirebon continues to unfold. In the latest development, the Cirebon City District Prosecutor’s Office has designated three bank officials as suspects. The three are DG, serving as Managing Director, AS as Operations Director, and ZM as credit department staff. After undergoing examination and being designated as suspects, they were immediately taken to the Class I Cirebon Detention Centre on Monday (13/4/2026) around 18:45 WIB. The three suspects were escorted into a detention vehicle owned by the Cirebon City Prosecutor’s Office, under the guard of members from the Cirebon City Prosecutor’s Office and the TNI. Their hands were visibly handcuffed, and they were wearing pink detention vests. “The three suspects will be detained for 20 days at the Class I Cirebon Detention Centre,” stated the Head of Intelligence Section of the Cirebon City Prosecutor’s Office, Roy Andhika Stevanus Sembiring. He explained that the designation of the three as suspects was carried out after elevating the case status to the investigation stage. The three are suspected of abusing authority and deviating in the disbursement of credit at BPR Bank Cirebon. “They are alleged to be involved in deviant practices in granting credit, both consumer and working capital loans, given to 17 internal bank employees during the period from 2017 to 2024,” he said. Roy noted that the state losses caused in the case involving the suspects amount to Rp17,358,703,318. This is based on the Audit Board of Indonesia’s Examination Result Report Number: 05/SR LHP/DJPI/PKN.01/02/2026 dated 19 February 2026. Roy stated that the suspects are charged under Article 603 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Articles 20 letter a and c of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
