PT Solder Tin Andalan Indonesia (STANIA), a subsidiary of PT Arsari Tambang, and Singapore Asahi Chemical & Solder Industries Pte Ltd. (Asahi Solder) have agreed to strengthen the downstreaming of Indonesia’s tin industry through the development of value-added solder products, technological and quality improvements, and expanded market access.

The agreement was set out in an MoU signed at STANIA’s plant in Batam under the theme “Strengthening Indonesia’s Downstreaming Industry through Strategic Partnership”.

STANIA forms part of PT Arsari Tambang’s integrated tin downstreaming ecosystem, stretching from mining to downstream products.

STANIA’s Batam plant was inaugurated in July 2025 with an initial capacity of 2,000 tonnes per year and currently produces solder bars, while developing higher value-added solder products.

President Director of PT Arsari Tambang and Vice President Director of Arsari Group, Aryo P S Djojohadikusumo, said the cooperation is part of Arsari Group’s grand vision to build Indonesia’s future industrial ecosystem.

He explained that STANIA is part of Arsari Tambang, itself a sub-holding of Arsari Group.

Therefore, today’s cooperation is not merely about solder product development, but part of an effort to build a value chain connecting natural resources, value-added materials, manufacturing and future technology.

Arsari Group, he said, is currently developing a technology and artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem called RAIA Grid, encompassing connectivity, fibre, data centres, cloud, high-performance computing and AI. The group is also preparing GPU assembly capabilities in Indonesia.

According to Aryo, developing this ecosystem requires supporting industries and supply chains.

“We want to see Indonesian tin keep moving up the value chain—from commodity to value-added material, then connecting with the electronic manufacturing industry and ultimately supporting the technology and AI ecosystem being built in Indonesia,” he said.

Asahi Solder is a Singapore-based multinational company with experience in soldering and electronic interconnect materials, whose products are used in a wide range of industrial electronics applications.

Owner and Managing Director of Singapore Asahi Chemical & Solder Industries Pte Ltd, Vincent Kho, welcomed the partnership as an opportunity to combine STANIA’s local manufacturing capabilities with Asahi’s experience and technology.

“We warmly welcome this strategic partnership with STANIA,” he said.

He said Indonesia holds enormous potential to develop its tin downstream industry.
