Backed by 83 Council Members, Suhud Alynudin Ready to Take on Role as DKI DPRD Chairman

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Suhud Alynudin, the candidate for Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, has stated his readiness to assume the role of council leader after receiving support from 83 DPRD members in a plenary session on Thursday (30/4/2026). The support was given during the plenary session discussing the proposal to replace the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Out of a total of 106 council members, 83 were present, thus fulfilling the quorum and allowing a decision to be made. He assessed that the smoothness of this process was inseparable from the role of the DPRD leadership and the attendance of the majority of members at the meeting. “Thank you to the DPRD leadership and fellow council members who attended. Alhamdulillah, this process has run smoothly without obstacles,” Suhud said at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building on Thursday (30/4/2026). Suhud hopes that this leadership change can strengthen cooperation between the DPRD and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), particularly in accelerating development. Suhud emphasised that he will strive to meet the expectations of council members and Jakarta residents, including speeding up development together with the Provincial Government. “I am grateful and, of course, I state that I will endeavour to fulfil all expectations from my colleagues and the people of DKI Jakarta to push and accelerate Jakarta’s development together with the Governor,” he said. Once approved, Suhud Alynudin’s name was announced as the candidate to replace the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PKS Faction. This means that Suhud’s appointment is pending ratification from the central government to continue the remaining term until 2029, while ending Khoirudin’s tenure as Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
