Babysitter in Buleleng Hallucinates Seeing Dark Figure, Chases Police Patrol
A babysitter with the initials MM (31) experienced a change in behaviour after claiming to see a tall dark figure disturbing her. Her condition became increasingly uncontrollable until MM ran after passing vehicles, including a police patrol car, before finally being evacuated by a joint team on Tuesday (25/8).
Head of Buleleng Civil Service Police Unit Komang Kappa Tri Aryandono said the handling of MM was carried out humanely together with the police and the Social Affairs Agency. MM was then referred to Buleleng Regional Hospital to receive medical treatment.
“We handled her humanely. The team together with the police secured her, then she was referred to Buleleng Regional Hospital,” said Kappa on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
MM is known to have worked as a babysitter for four months. However, in the last three to four days her behaviour changed drastically. She said she wanted to go home immediately because she felt disturbed by hallucinations of a tall dark figure.
When she was about to be sent home using a travel service, MM’s condition became uncontrollable again. She chased vehicles passing on the main road and clung to officers after chasing a police patrol car.
MM was eventually secured and taken to Buleleng Regional Hospital. While undergoing medical treatment, she struggled when given a sedative.
MM is currently still hospitalised at Buleleng Regional Hospital. The Social Affairs Agency is providing assistance for her recovery and return process. MM’s family in East Nusa Tenggara has also been contacted and will come to Buleleng to pick her up.
