Baby Boy Wrapped in Sarong Found in Cigombong, Bogor; Police Investigate
A baby boy, estimated to be less than one year old, was found wrapped in a sarong in Pasir Jaya Village, Cigombong, Bogor Regency. Police are investigating to locate the baby’s parents.
Cigombong Police Chief Kompol Uba Subroto confirmed the discovery on Sunday morning. He stated that officers received a report and immediately checked the scene, where initial information indicated the baby was found on the side of a village road.
Uba explained that the infant was discovered by a local resident around 7 a.m. local time. The baby was found alive and was promptly taken to a community health centre for a medical check-up.
According to Uba, a resident was on their way to a garden when they noticed a bundle. Upon inspection, they discovered it contained a baby wrapped in a sarong.
Police are currently investigating the case and searching for the parents and the person responsible for abandoning the baby. After receiving the report, officers visited the scene, interviewed witnesses, and launched an investigation. The identity of the parents remains unknown. Authorities have also coordinated with relevant agencies, including the social services department, the sub-district office, and the community health centre.
