A baby boy was found by residents in the area of Bunda Beach, Panimbang Jaya village, Panimbang subdistrict, Pandeglang regency. The baby was alive when discovered and was wrapped in a red plastic bag.

“People initially heard a baby crying. When they went to look, they found a baby in the bushes near the beach, wrapped in red plastic,” Panimbang Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief Ipda Abdul Muiz said on Monday (19 October 2026).

Muiz said the incident took place at about 5.30pm on Sunday (18 October). Residents who found the baby immediately reported it to the police and Panimbang Community Health Centre.

“Residents reported it to the police straight away and took the baby to the health centre,” he said.

Muiz said the baby was currently in a healthy condition. However, the baby’s weight was below the ideal level, so intensive medical care was needed.

“The health centre said the baby was normal and healthy, but underweight. As a precaution, the baby must be referred to the regional public hospital,” he said.

Muiz added that the police and health centre were currently focused on ensuring the baby’s safety. Police are also investigating to find the baby’s parents.

“The investigation is being conducted to establish who the parents are,” he said.
