Baby Abandoned on Sancaka Train Toilet Was Left by Secret Lovers
The case of a baby abandoned in the toilet of the Sancaka 84B train travelling from Jogja to Surabaya has been solved. The male infant was left by a pair of secret lovers. “The motive was that they were confused because they were not married. The man already has a wife and two children, while the woman is single,” said Commissioner Ratna Karlinasari, Head of the PPA PPO Unit at Surakarta Police, on Friday (10/7/2026). The perpetrators have now been arrested. They are the illicit couple, a 31-year-old man from Semarang with the initials HDP, and a 25-year-old woman from Tegal with the initials NIZ. The baby was delivered independently by NIZ at her home on Wednesday (1/7). The following day, Thursday (2/7), NIZ travelled to Jogja to meet HDP, who works there. The pair stayed overnight at a hotel and planned the abandonment. On Saturday morning (4/7), NIZ and HDP went to Lempuyangan Station to take a commuter train towards Solo. Carrying the baby, they alighted at Klaten Station. After arriving at Klaten Station, they intended to return to Jogja by commuter train. However, as they were boarding, they noticed the Sancaka train had stopped and placed the baby inside it.
