The Criminal Investigation Unit of Babelan Police, Bekasi Metropolitan Police, uncovered an alleged drug trafficking operation on Jalan Raya Pasar Modern Harapan Indah 2, Pusaka Rakyat Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency. Police arrested a man with the initials W (33), who is suspected of being a dealer.

Babelan Police Chief Kompol Wito stated that the case originated from a public tip-off regarding a suspected narcotics transaction in the area. The Opsnal Team of the Babelan Police Criminal Investigation Unit then conducted surveillance at the location. On Wednesday (15/7/2026), at around 8.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, officers apprehended the suspect and carried out a search.

“From the initial examination, police found a small plastic clip containing crystals suspected to be methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.50 grammes. The item was found inside a red cigarette packet stored in the suspect’s trouser pocket,” Wito said in a statement on Sunday (19/7/2026).

Subsequently, police conducted further investigation to locate other storage sites. As a result, officers went to a location in Pejuang Pratama Housing Complex, Pejuang Sub-district, Medan Satria District, Bekasi City.

“From that follow-up location, officers found another large plastic clip containing narcotics suspected to be methamphetamine with a gross weight of 97.80 grammes. Thus, the total evidence seized in this operation reached a gross weight of 98.30 grammes,” he said.

At the site, police also confiscated two digital scales, one large and one small, hundreds of plastic clips of various sizes. In addition, there was a Samsung A32 mobile phone, boxes, paper bags, scissors, a cutter, adhesive tape, and clear packing tape, all suspected to be linked to the packaging and distribution of narcotics.

“The suspect along with all the evidence was then taken to Babelan Police for further investigation and inquiry. Investigators are also still probing the origin of the goods, the supplier network, and the possible involvement of other parties in this case,” he stated.

As a result of his alleged actions, the suspect is being processed under Article 112 paragraph (2) and/or Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The determination of criminal elements and further legal status will be based on the results of the examination and evidence gathered by investigators.
