Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Bangka Belitung Provincial Government (Pemprov Babel) mandates that new arrivals report to the local neighbourhood association (RT) or community association (RW) within 1x24 hours after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE.

“This policy is to ensure that population data collection runs orderly,” said the Head of the Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Civil Registry Administration, and Population Control and Family Planning Office (DP3ACSKB) of Bangka Belitung, Asyraf Suryadin, in Pangkalpinang on Sunday.

He stated that the policy requiring new arrivals to report to the local RT/RW within 1x24 hours is a step by the regional government to regulate population administration and also to maintain order and security in the area.

“Usually, these new arrivals only come to meet their relatives and end up feeling comfortable staying in Bangka Belitung,” he said.

According to him, Bangka Belitung Province has become one of the destination provinces for migrants seeking work in sectors such as mining, plantations, and services.

“It is important for new arrivals to report so that the Civil Registry Office can record them and issue non-permanent population documents,” he said.

He hopes that new arrivals who will stay in Babel for a long period will report to the district/city Civil Registry Office where they reside so that the relevant office can issue non-permanent population documents.

“If the new arrivals feel comfortable and want to change to a Bangka Belitung ID card (KTP), the procedure is also not too difficult,” he said.
