Babel Provincial Government: Eid Momentum Boosts Tourism Sector Economy
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Bangka Belitung Provincial Government states that the Eid holiday momentum in 2026 has successfully boosted the community’s economy, especially in the tourism sector.
Head of Tourism at the Provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office, Irwanto, in Pangkalpinang on Friday, said that tourist visits to attractions, particularly beaches, experienced a surge, with thousands of people arriving daily, thereby enhancing the economy for managers such as parking attendants, toilet rental providers, cottage rental owners, beachside stall owners, and others.
“On this holiday momentum coinciding with the school holiday period, it has created an extraordinary ripple effect in the tourism sector, allowing tourism actors to feel the positive impact,” he said.
According to him, prior to entering the holiday period, tourism actors had prepared various supporting elements, such as improving tourism facility infrastructure, enhancing services, and adding human resources.
“From parking, services at toilets or showers, and preparing worship facilities, as well as adding personnel to monitor visitors bathing at the beach to ensure everything is safe and no unwanted incidents occur,” he said.
In addition, the Provincial Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office is continuously coordinating with the local police and other relevant parties to ensure security and comfort at all tourist locations.
“We want to ensure security and order at all tourist sites so that tourists or visitors to tourist spots are guaranteed safety while holidaying in Babel,” he said.
