B50 Launched, Prabowo Proud Indonesia is First Country to Mandate B50

President Prabowo officially launched the use of B50 biodiesel on 9 July 2025, cementing Indonesia’s position as the first country in the world to mandate the B50 blend as part of a national strategy to strengthen energy security.

During the launch, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia highlighted the successful trials of B50 implementation and outlined its benefits. The programme is expected to save the country up to Rp 170 trillion in foreign exchange, absorb 2.1 million workers, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 44.4 million tonnes of CO2.
