Azis Samual Urges Golkar to Support Prabowo's Continuity until 2029 Election

Jakarta, VIVA – Senior Golkar Party figure, Azis Samual, has highlighted two crucial and urgent matters regarding the national political direction and the internal governance of the Golkar Party.

These main points include full support for the continuity of Prabowo Subianto’s leadership until the 202pend 29 election, as well as decisive action against party members or officials implicated in corruption cases.

Responding to the speech by the General Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan, at PAN’s 28th Anniversary on 18 September 2026, Azis Samual expressed appreciation for PAN’s political move in firmly declaring loyalty and support for President Prabowo Subianto towards the 2029 election.

The Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP) is being urged to follow suit by convening a National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) as the party’s official decision-making forum.

“Today’s political dynamics require sustainable authority to maintain national stability. This long-term political certainty is crucial to providing positive sentiment for the market and maintaining public and investor confidence in the direction of government policy,” said Azis, as quoted on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.

Urging Dismissal of Members Involved in Corruption

Regarding the issue of party integrity, Azis Samual urged the Golkar Party’s DPP to conduct a massive cleansing across all levels of the organisation. This is in response to the ongoing involvement of Golkar officials and members in corruption cases, including recent sting operations (OTT) that have implicated the party.

Urgent and decisive steps are required to immediately dismiss or remove from party leadership all members or officials at all levels who are proven to be involved in corruption cases or caught in KPK sting operations. Similarly, the party leadership must be cleared of members who hold the status of former convicts in corruption cases.

This is to ensure that the Golkar Party is not perceived by the wider public as a ‘bunker’ or a ‘sanctuary’ for perpetrators of corruption crimes.

“Decisive steps to internally cleanse members with legal issues represent a real commitment from the Golkar Party in fully supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s vision. Support for President Prabowo Subianto’s administration cannot be expressed solely through jargon or political forums; it must be proven through concrete actions to maintain the integrity of the supporting party, aligning with the spirit of corruption eradication championed by the Head of State,” said Azis.
