AXA Financial Expands Life Insurance Access, Offers Protection Up to Age 100
PT AXA Financial Indonesia (AFI) has launched a traditional life insurance product, Lifetime Protection Powered by AXA Long Term Life Protector, in an effort to widen access to long-term financial protection amid rising life expectancy and the public’s growing need for economic security. Niharika Yadav, President Director of AXA Financial Indonesia, said the product is designed to provide protection up to the age of 100 while helping people face long-term financial risks.
“As life expectancy rises, the protection gap widens and families’ financial burdens grow, people need protection solutions that can provide certainty across generations. Through Lifetime Protection Powered by AXA Long Term Life Protector, we want to help people prepare for the future better,” Niharika said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (8 July 2026).
According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the average life expectancy of the Indonesian population reached 74.47 years in 2025 and has continued to increase in recent years.
Meanwhile, the Swiss Re Institute Asia Life & Health Consumer Survey 2025 recorded that the protection gap in Asia remains high. The health protection gap is estimated at around Rp 4,200 trillion, while the mortality protection gap stands at about Rp 2,150 trillion as of 2024.
According to AXA Financial Indonesia, these conditions show that public demand for financial protection against health risks and the loss of a family breadwinner remains substantial.
In addition, the growing number of the sandwich generation is also driving demand for long-term protection products. This group must bear the economic needs of both children and parents amid rising living costs and economic uncertainty.
