The Aqsa Working Group (AWG) has declared its support for the second Jewish Anti-Zionist Congress (JAZIC) taking place in Dublin, Ireland, from 26-28 June. The organisation stated that the presence of Jewish individuals openly rejecting Zionism sends a powerful message that the struggle against Zionism is not based on religion, but is a collective fight to defend humanity and justice. AWG expressed appreciation for the opportunity to attend the first JAZIC congress in Vienna, Austria, in June 2025, and thanked the organisers for inviting the AWG Presidium Chair to this year’s event. The invitation was seen as recognition of the consistency of AWG and Indonesian civil society in voicing support for Palestine in various international forums. However, AWG regretted that it could not attend this year’s event because the visa applied for through the Irish Embassy in Jakarta had not yet been approved. Despite its absence, AWG continues to support the second JAZIC congress, viewing the forum as part of efforts to strengthen international solidarity. The group also appreciated the congress’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration in opposing colonialism, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide, which it says are being experienced by the Palestinian people, and to turning global solidarity into concrete action. Furthermore, AWG proposed that the third JAZIC congress next year be held in Indonesia. AWG believes Indonesia has a long history of supporting Palestinian independence and a civil society that consistently voices solidarity with the Palestinian people. The group is confident that Indonesia can be the right place to further strengthen international solidarity and expand the global movement against Zionism. The first JAZIC was held in Vienna, Austria, from 13-15 June 2025. This year’s congress is being attended by anti-Zionist Jewish figures, human rights activists, academics, and international organisations to discuss joint steps regarding the rejection of Zionism and alleged violations against the Palestinian people, including occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.
