Jakarta – The Aqsa Working Group (AWG), a humanitarian organisation, has urged the international community and state leaders to unite in halting US-Israeli military aggression against Iran and any nation worldwide, including Palestine.

“All parties bear responsibility for pursuing sustainable peace, respecting national sovereignty, and ending practices of aggression that damage the global order,” said AWG Presidential Chair Muhammad Anshorullah in a press statement on Sunday (1 March).

Anshorullah stated that AWG condemns US-Israeli military attacks on Iran as grave violations of the UN Charter and international law. “Such military actions cannot be justified in a global order based on the rule of law,” he said.

According to Anshorullah, the current situation in the Middle East is inseparable from the context of colonisation and genocide in Palestine. Iran, he noted, is one of the few Muslim nations that consistently and firmly supports the Palestinian cause and rejects foreign intervention.

He added that tensions in the region are being exploited by the US and Israel to destabilise security. “Zionist Israel is potentially becoming increasingly free to conduct various repressive measures in Palestine,” he stated.

The humanitarian organisation renewed its call for Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to withdraw Indonesia from the Board of Peace (BoP) established by US President Donald Trump. Anshorullah said that US-Israeli attacks on a sovereign nation like Iran further prove that the forum has failed to maintain global stability, with Trump being the principal actor behind the strikes against Iran.

The attack on Iran on Saturday, according to him, is the first tangible manifestation of the BoP and evidence that the forum is not an instrument of peace but of imperialism. “This crime further emphasises that the BoP’s objective is not to realise Palestinian independence,” he stated.

Rather, Anshorullah said, the strikes strengthen Israeli colonisation of Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque to establish Greater Israel. “Consequently, the BoP is increasingly absurd and has lost moral and legal legitimacy,” he said.

Anshorullah stated that the chaos and interventions carried out by hegemonic powers across various regions, including in Iran, Venezuela, and elsewhere, represent a coordinated effort to maintain their hegemony and perpetuate colonisation in Palestine, particularly against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the oppressed Palestinian people. “These actions not only violate international law but also perpetuate the suffering of innocent civilians,” he said.

He also lamented the stance of several Arab and Gulf nations, whether directly or indirectly, in facilitating US-Israeli military strikes. “Unity of the Ummah, Islamic solidarity, and genuine peace efforts are far more important and urgent than actions that instead broaden conflict escalation and damage regional stability,” he said.

He also expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian citizens and their leader, Ali Khamenei.
