AWG Condemns Installation of Israeli Banners at Indonesian Hospital in Gaza
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Aqsa Working Group (AWG) has strongly condemned the installation of Zionist Israeli banners at the Indonesian Hospital (RSI) in Gaza, calling it an unacceptable provocation that also violates international law.
“AWG condemns in the strongest terms the installation of banners celebrating Israel’s national day at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza. This action constitutes an unacceptable form of provocation and violates international law,” said AWG Presidium Chairman M. Anshorullah in a press release in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to him, the placement of such banners as part of their national holiday celebrations is characteristic of colonial regime practices in occupied territories.
The Indonesian Hospital in Gaza is a monumental building constructed through contributions from the Indonesian people, initiated by MER-C.
The presence of RSI represents Indonesia’s humanitarian concern for the Palestinian people, as well as a symbol of brotherhood over the bitter experience of colonisation.
“Therefore, any violation against it is an insult to the dignity of the Indonesian people. This violation was carried out by Israel, a member of the Board of Peace (BoP) and a close ally of the United States,” he said.
AWG demands that the UN and all its instruments prosecute Israel for this violation and the injustices they have committed in Palestinian territories and at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
AWG also demands that the US government take responsibility for Israel’s crimes due to its provision of arms and funding support.
Furthermore, AWG appreciates the condemnation from the Indonesian government conveyed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“But it must not stop at statements of condemnation alone. Concrete and firm steps are needed to ensure the safety of this health facility protected by international law,” he said.
AWG also urges Indonesia to immediately withdraw from the BoP, which, according to him, is incapable of stopping the crimes of Zionist Israel, let alone prosecuting them. On the contrary, the Zionists have become even more brutal in carrying out various violations.
In addition, AWG calls on the international community to immediately take meaningful actions.
“This action against RSI clearly violates various provisions of international law, which affirm that medical facilities must be protected under all circumstances, especially those built through a nation’s humanitarian contributions,” he said.
AWG reaffirms its commitment to continue monitoring this issue and invites all elements of the nation to strengthen solidarity in defending humanitarian values and justice for the Palestinian people.
