Awards for philanthropists

BOGOR (JP): Bogor Mayor Eddy Gunardi rewarded individuals and
organizations which have worked to ease hardship and suffering by
handing out basic commodities free or selling them at low prices.

Bogor municipality spokesman Hari Harsono said that those who
received the rewards yesterday had demonstrated great concern for
the plight of the poor during the crisis.

The individual category award went to Edi Mulyanto, a local
businessman. The organizations which received commendation were
the Agency for Promotion of National Unity (Bakom PKB), the
Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association, the Association of
Indonesian Agriculture Students, the alumni and students of the
Bogor Institute of Agriculture, Kiki electronics group, residents
of the Danau Bogor Raya housing complex, Al Falak Moslem school,
Pakuan and Juanda universities and the Bogor Land Transportation
Owners Organization (Organda).

Also honored were the Bogor military and police commands, the
Bogor chapter of the Indonesian Employee's Cooperatives (PKPRI),
PT Good Year and PT Indomarco. (09/24)
