Award from Japanese Emperor

JAKARTA: An 81-year-old man will receive an award from the
Japanese Emperor for his services to Japanese culture and the
teaching of the Japanese language.

The recipient is Mariono Mertodihardjo, the founder of the
Association of Japanese Studies in Indonesia.

The award, which will be presented by the representative of
the Japanese Embassy, Hideaki Domichi, on Thursday at 11 a.m.
here, is called The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays With
