Aviation Industry Strengthens Avionics Maintenance Capacity
The growth of flight operations requires aircraft maintenance support capable of ensuring safety while minimising downtime. The availability of avionics components and domestic maintenance capabilities are critical factors in supporting airline operations.
This demand has prompted FL Technics Indonesia to collaborate with GE Aerospace for the maintenance of avionics systems for Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 fleets. The partnership includes support for the supply of official GE Aerospace components and materials for FL Technics Indonesia’s facilities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali.
Chairman of FL Technics Indonesia, Martynas Grigas, stated that avionics systems play a vital role in supporting aircraft operations and safety. The availability of components is also essential to support the maintenance processes carried out by airlines and operators.
“Avionics is the backbone of aircraft systems, a field that we always maintain with the highest standards, as well as the best resource and expertise support,” Martynas said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (2/10/2026).
Through this collaboration, airlines and operators will gain access to genuine avionics spare parts integrated with repair and installation services. FL Technics Indonesia believes this scheme can support aircraft maintenance needs while strengthening the capabilities of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) industry in Indonesia.
“This step is in line with our commitment to continuously improve safety standards while addressing the evolving operational needs of airlines,” Martynas added.
FL Technics Indonesia currently operates a hangar and office complex spanning 27,520 square metres at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, as well as a 17,000 square metre facility at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The company’s operations are supported by more than 700 aviation experts.
The company is a subsidiary of FL Technics and part of the Avia Solutions Group. FL Technics Indonesia also holds FAA Part-145 certification and more than 20 civil aviation authority approvals to support its aircraft maintenance services.
GE Aerospace General Manager of Avionics, Matt Burns, stated that the partnership aims to expand avionics service support for flight operators in Indonesia and the regional area.
“This collaboration reflects GE Aerospace’s commitment to supporting operators in Indonesia and the regional area with avionics expertise, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations,” said Matt.
Strengthening domestic avionics services can expand the capacity of the MRO industry to serve airline fleets. The availability of components connected to maintenance facilities is also a key factor in maintaining aircraft readiness and flight operational efficiency.
