Aviation Industry Players to Gather at IAS 2026 to Discuss the Future of Aviation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) plans to hold the international forum, Indonesia Aero Summit (IAS) 2026, as a platform for cross-stakeholder collaboration in the aviation industry.
In collaboration with INNOWINN International, the event will take place over two days on 8–9 July 2026 in Jakarta.
INACA Chairman, Denon Prawiraatmadja, stated that the organisation of IAS 2026 represents a crucial moment amid the ongoing developments in the national aviation industry.
“In the midst of the dynamics of the national aviation industry, INACA will once again hold the Indonesia Aero Summit as a strategic collaboration forum that brings together industry stakeholders,” said Denon in an official statement on Monday (27/4/2026). IAS 2026 marks the third edition following successful events in 2024 and 2025.
From domestically, several institutions scheduled to attend include the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, InJourney Airports, AirNav Indonesia, Pertamina Patra Niaga, the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), and several airlines such as Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Pelita Air, and Lion Air.
Meanwhile, international speakers scheduled to attend include Lufthansa Technik, Zurich Airport, Emirates Flight Training Academy, Deloitte Consulting, and Arthur D. Little.
This year, IAS adopts the overarching theme of Sustainable Aviation Ecosystem, emphasising the development of an integrated, resilient, and sustainable national aviation system. “This theme underscores that aviation industry sustainability is not just about reducing emissions, but also a comprehensive transformation across the entire aviation value chain, from policy, operations, technology, to cross-sector collaboration,” explained Denon.
This ecosystem concept encourages collaboration between government, airport operators, airlines, energy industry, as well as educational and research institutions.
Discussion focuses will include the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), carbon trading, airport infrastructure modernisation, air traffic management efficiency, and the utilisation of digital technology.
In addition to environmental aspects, IAS 2026 will also highlight the importance of balancing industry growth with socio-economic impacts. “Sustainable aviation must be able to enhance national connectivity, drive regional economic growth, while still considering workforce welfare and communities,” he added.
Denon hopes this forum can formulate the direction for the future of Indonesia’s aviation industry to be more adaptive, inclusive, and globally competitive.
IAS 2026 is also expected to be one of the strategic steps in supporting the government’s target to boost national economic growth to 8 percent by 2029.
“2026 is hoped to be a turning point to further enhance Indonesia’s national aviation industry so that it can help the Government’s target in growing the national economy by 8 percent in 2029, while making the national aviation industry more competitive internationally,” he emphasised.
As an illustration, the national aviation industry is currently under considerable complex pressures that directly impact airline business sustainability.
