AVI Distributes Inaugural Nutritious Meal Programme to 50 Orphans in Gaza

Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia (AVI) has distributed its inaugural Nutritious Meal for Gaza (MBG) programme to 50 orphans in the Al Mawashi area of Khan Younis, Gaza, on Monday (29/6). The programme is intended to help meet the nutritional needs of children affected by the humanitarian crisis in the region. The aid was distributed by AVI volunteers in Gaza under the coordination of Ahmad Ibrahim Asthal. The food packages were prepared according to the nutritional needs of the beneficiaries, featuring a menu commonly consumed by the local community. Each MBG package contained Gazan spiced rice, chicken, pickled vegetables, apples, nuts, and milk. All packages were distributed directly to 50 orphans in the Al Mawashi area of Khan Younis. AVI stated that the programme is part of efforts to help fulfil the nutritional needs of children living with limited access to food due to the prolonged conflict. In addition to meeting daily dietary requirements, the aid is expected to support the health and immune systems of the beneficiaries. AVI Volunteer Coordinator in Gaza, Ahmad Ibrahim Asthal, said that nutritious food is one of the most urgent needs for children affected by the humanitarian crisis. ‘Nutritious food not only helps meet the children’s physical needs but also represents a form of care and support from the Indonesian people to their brothers and sisters in Gaza,’ Ahmad said. AVI also expressed its appreciation to the Indonesian public who participated through donations, enabling the aid to be distributed directly to beneficiaries via the volunteer network on the ground. Going forward, AVI hopes the Nutritious Meal for Gaza Programme can be implemented sustainably to reach more orphans and families in need across various areas of Gaza.
