Automotive Industry Seeks Government Support to Boost Car Sales in 2026
The Secretary General of the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), Kukuh Kumara, stated that rising interest rates not only impact the public’s purchasing power for cars and motorcycles but also affect working capital financing for the automotive industry. Facing these conditions, the automotive industry is focusing on boosting sales through a number of sales strategies to achieve a car sales target of up to 850,000 units in 2026, including through the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Government support is expected in the form of incentives to drive public automotive purchasing power, alongside the maintenance of Indonesia’s economic growth.
