Automotive Industry Begins Adopting AI Technology
Indonesian technology company AtlasGo is expanding its business into the automotive sector through a strategic partnership with Sun Motor Mitsubishi. The collaboration aims to implement DealerView, an AI-based platform used to read prospective buyer behaviour and digitally manage the vehicle sales process.
AtlasGo Co-Founder & CEO Wasudewan said the partnership marks the company’s initial step in bringing sales intelligence technology to the automotive industry, having previously developed a similar solution in the property sector. “Large companies spend enormous marketing budgets across various channels but often cannot answer where their best leads originate. AtlasGo exists to solve that problem,” Wasudewan said in a statement.
Under the partnership, Sun Motor Mitsubishi will use DealerView to deliver an interactive virtual showroom, real-time monitoring of prospective buyer interest, lead management, sales attribution, and a sales performance dashboard. DealerView allows prospective buyers to explore vehicles digitally, from exterior and interior views to after-sales services. Prospective buyer activity within the platform is then analysed to identify the most popular vehicle models, the most frequently viewed features, and indications of purchase readiness.
According to Wasudewan, changes in consumer behaviour are one reason technology like DealerView is needed by automotive dealers. Consumers are increasingly conducting online research before visiting a showroom. “This technology ensures every rupiah invested by a company in the sales process can be measured, optimised, and directed to generate better conversions,” he said.
General Manager Operational of Sun Motor Mitsubishi, Rudi Rimawan, said his company chose AtlasGo because the platform was deemed to understand the needs of the on-the-ground sales process, not merely provide technology. “For us, DealerView is not just a tool, but a strategic partner that helps our team sell smarter amid increasingly fierce competition,” Rudi said.
Indonesia’s automotive industry has recently faced intensifying competition, particularly with the arrival of many new vehicle models and the rising penetration of electric vehicles. This situation requires dealers to update their methods of reaching consumers, managing product knowledge, and measuring marketing effectiveness.
AtlasGo Co-Founder & CTO David Kusnadi said DealerView was developed to help salespeople work more efficiently without replacing their role. “DealerView does not replace salespeople, but helps them understand the position of each prospective buyer in the decision-making process,” David said.
In addition to DealerView for automotive, AtlasGo also developed ProperView for the property sector. The company, which has been operating since 2018, is targeting service expansion into other industries with complex sales processes and long decision cycles. Wasudewan, who previously served as CEO of Rumah123, joined AtlasGo to lead cross-industry business expansion. He assessed that the main problem in many companies today is the disconnect between marketing activities, consumer data, and sales results. Going forward, AtlasGo stated it will strengthen the AI capabilities of its platform, including the development of buyer interest prediction and sales assistance automation.
