The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Gerakan Rakyat Indonesia Bersatu (GRIB) Jaya has refuted claims that dozens of its members swarmed and surrounded the home of book author Ahmad Bahar in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, on Sunday (17/5/2026).

Marcel Gual, Head of Public Relations and Publication for DPP GRIB Jaya, stated that the arrival of the GRIB Jaya task force at the residence of the TikTok user @pecimiringg_ was merely to seek a peaceful explanation regarding videos uploaded by the account. “The narrative suggesting a ‘mass siege’ is considered highly exaggerated and does not align with the facts on the ground. The arrival of the organisation’s representatives at Ahmad Bahar’s residence was purely to perform clarification or tabayyun,” Marcel said in an official statement on Monday (18/5/2026).

Ahmad Bahar’s video content was deemed offensive towards the General Chairman of GRIB Jaya, Rosario de Marshall, also known as Hercules. The content reportedly referenced Hercules amidst an ongoing social media dispute involving Amien Rais.

According to Marcel, Ahmad Bahar should refrain from creating provocative content. “This also serves as a reminder to perpetrators that public spaces must be filled with facts, not slander or provocation,” he added.

Marcel explained that the decision for GRIB Jaya members to visit Ahmad Bahar’s home was prompted by instances of doxing, where personal information was being widely circulated by unknown foreign numbers via WhatsApp. These anonymous numbers were repeatedly sending Ahmad Bahar’s TikTok content to individuals close to Hercules and the leadership of GRIB Jaya.

“These dark numbers were spreading Ahmad Bahar’s TikTok content, which contained inappropriate and offensive narratives against Hercules,” Marcel stated. He further described the repeated sending of this content as a form of digital terror and intimidation. Based on these grounds, GRIB Jaya representatives approached Ahmad Bahar’s residence, though Marcel claimed the actions taken on-site were purely persuasive.
