DEPOK — The residence of book author Ahmad Bahar in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, was raided by dozens of individuals claiming to be members of the GRIB Jaya mass organisation on Sunday afternoon (17/5/2026). This forced intrusion was triggered by a video posted on Ahmad Bahar’s TikTok account, which was deemed to criticise and offend the General Chairman of GRIB Jaya, Rosario de Marshall, commonly known as Hercules.

Ahmad Bahar’s wife, Yenni Nur, explained that the content was created by her husband as a form of defence for political figure Amien Rais, who had previously been in conflict with Hercules. “The root of this is Ahmad Bahar’s content which touched upon Hercules. Since Hercules had previously confronted Mr Amien Rais, and Mr Ahmad is close to Mr Amien, the content naturally bordered on provocative, suggesting ‘it is your time to fall’,” Yenni explained via telephone on Monday (18/5/2026).

According to Yenni, the situation escalated due to a mobile phone hacking incident involving her daughter’s device a few days prior to the raid. The hacker intentionally sent threats to Hercules using the daughter’s number, creating the impression that Ahmad Bahar’s family was challenging Hercules. “Three or four days ago, my daughter’s phone was hacked. It turns out the hacker used her number to threaten Hercules,” Yenni revealed.

Yenni emphasised that neither Ahmad nor his daughter had any contact details or the phone number of Hercules. However, when the phone was compromised, the hacker sent messages to several GRIB Jaya members, including Hercules. While representatives from GRIB Jaya had previously visited to seek clarification and requested evidence of the hacking—which Ahmad Bahar provided—the issue remained unresolved, leading to the raid on Sunday. During the incident, one of Ahmad Bahar’s daughters was reportedly taken to the GRIB Jaya National Headquarters. Yenni noted that she was out of town during the event, while Ahmad Bahar was travelling to deliver his book to the Chairman of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan.
