Author Ahmad Bahar Reaches Peace Agreement with GRIB Jaya Following House Raid

DEPOK — Book author Ahmad Bahar has announced that he and the GRIB Jaya organisation have reached a peace agreement following an incident involving the raiding of his residence, which reportedly stemmed from the alleged hacking of his WhatsApp account.

The settlement was reached at the Depok Police Station in the early hours of Monday (18/05/2026). “Regarding the agreement, I am offering an apology. However, it is not because I committed the act of creating that video. It is not,” Ahmad stated when met at his home in the Cimanggis area, Depok, West Java, on Monday.

According to Ahmad, the apology led to a softening of the GRIB Jaya group’s stance. He explained that the peace agreement was reached after he engaged in a dialogue lasting approximately two hours with around ten members of GRIB Jaya. This dialogue took place after GRIB Jaya members returned Ahmad’s daughter, who had been taken to the GRIB Jaya headquarters in West Jakarta on Sunday afternoon (17/05/2026).

During the meeting, Ahmad admitted to experiencing pressure from the ten GRIB Jaya members. One of the primary points of contention was the accusation that he was lying by failing to admit that a video sent to the wife of GRIB Jaya General Chairman, Rosario de Marshall (also known as Hercules), was his creation. The video in question contained threats against Hercules, alongside other footage allegedly disparaging his wife. Furthermore, several threatening messages were reportedly sent to the contact numbers of Hercules’ wife and GRIB Jaya officials.

Ahmad maintains that he has no personal acquaintance with Hercules and no connection to GRIB Jaya. He denied creating the threatening videos or messages, suggesting instead that his and his child’s WhatsApp accounts had been hacked. He suspects third parties may have sent modified videos, potentially utilising AI technology. “They said, ‘You’re lying, aren’t you?’ But lying about what? We had already explained everything when they came here previously,” Ahmad said.

Ahmad further noted that there may have been other modified videos recently viewed by GRIB Jaya members. He added that on Sunday afternoon, he approached the Depok Police after his daughter was taken to the GRIB Jaya headquarters, seeking a solution to ensure her immediate return.
