Australian ships to visit Jakarta

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Adelaide Class guided missile
frigates, HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Newcastle will visit the city
from Aug. 29 to 31.

The Australian Embassy said yesterday that the ships will
berth at Tanjung Priok port and participate in pre-exercise
briefings prior to sailing for exercises with the Indonesian
Navy.

HMAS Adelaide is the oldest type of RAN's guided missile
frigates while HMAS Newcastle is the latest edition of the
Australian six guided missile frigates.

HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Newcastle are respectively under the
command of Captain M.W. Bell CSC and Commander Rowan C. Moffitt.
