Australian found dead in Bali
DENPASAR, Bali: An Australian tourist drowned near the Legian Beach in Kuta yesterday, the Antara news agency reported.
According to local police spokesman Lt. Col. Lalu Budiardja, Monika Kirchmair, 29, who previously stayed at an inn near the beach, was found dead by officers patrolling the area.
Budiardja said her body is at the Denpasar general hospital and the police are waiting to hear from her family.
Kirchmair is the second Australian, and 14th foreign tourist, found dead in Bali over the last four months from various incidents.
Australian Sally Margaret, 21, drowned near Lovina Beach in northern Bali early this month. The others are Japanese, Dutch, Taiwanese, British and American tourists.(pwn)
