Austrade director in town

JAKARTA (JP): A senior official of the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), Charles Jamieson, will be on an official visit to Indonesia from Sunday to Wednesday, the Australian Embassy announced.

The purpose of Jamieson's visit is to conduct a personal assessment of the business environment and to talk to Indonesian business leaders, Australian business community and senior Indonesian ministers, the embassy said.

More than 400 Australian businesses have offices in Indonesia. They are mostly engaged in the sectors of mining, agribusiness, infrastructure development, environment, health and defense.

Austrade is the Australian government's international development agency. It has 106 offices in 60 countries, including one in Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan. The Jakarta office was established in 1935. (02)
