Aussie lawmakers to visit Aceh
JAKARTA: A delegation of the Australian Parliament is scheduled to make a three-day visit to Indonesia from Monday to assess the use of Australian aid in tsunami-hit Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, among other things.
The eight-member delegation, led by Bruce Billson, will meet with Australian aid workers in Aceh and the chairman of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Executing Agency for Aceh and Nias, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto.
The delegation will also meet with top government officials and House of Representatives members in Jakarta.
Another delegation comprising senior Australian government officials will also visit Indonesia this week in a bid to improve relations between the two countries, particularly in economic areas, a press statement issued by the Australian government on Monday said. -- Antara
