Auditor Reveals Parties Profiting Heavily from Chromebook Project, Distributing Money to Officials
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - An auditor from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and Chairman of the State Loss Calculation Team for the Chromebook Case, Dedy Nurmawan Susilo, stated that there were goods suppliers who obtained unjust profits from the Chromebook procurement project.
Dedy also revealed that these parties were able to give money to several officials of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) from those profits.
“We see these gifts, which indicate that the perpetrators involved in this procurement indeed obtained large profits, unjust profits. Thus, the money was also distributed,” said Dedy when testifying in the Chromebook corruption trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, on Monday (13/4/2026).
“The logic is simple: if there were no issues with prices in this procurement, and the margins were reasonable, why distribute? Where does the money for distribution come from?” said Dedy.
According to him, entrepreneurs would only think about ways to profit for themselves, not for others.
“For example, entrepreneurs think that if they make a profit, it’s for themselves; why for others? They’re the ones doing the work,” said Dedy.
PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi is said to have received profits of Rp 281,676,739,975.27, and Mariana Susy, as a partner of PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi, received profits of Rp 5.15 billion.
In addition to enriching these 12 companies, the Chromebook procurement also unlawfully enriched several Kemendikbudristek officials, namely Harnowo Susanto, as the PPK who appointed PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi as the ICT equipment supplier, received Rp 300 million.
Then, Dhany Hamiddan Khoir, as PPK for SMA, received Rp 200 million and 30,000 US dollars; Purwadi Sutanto and Suhartono Arham, as PPK for SMA, each received 7,000 US dollars; Wahyu Haryadi, as PPK for SD, received Rp 35 million.
Nia Nurhasanah, as PPK for PAUD, received Rp 500 million; Hamid Muhammad, as Acting Director General of Paud Dasmen, received Rp 75 million; Director General of PAUDasmen Jumeri received Rp 100 million; Susanto received Rp 50 million; and Muhammad Hasbi, as Budget User Representative for PAUD, received Rp 250 million.
Former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim is charged with causing a state financial loss of Rp 2.1 trillion in the alleged corruption case of Chromebook-based laptop procurement.
This act was carried out together with three other defendants, namely former Kemendikbudristek technology consultant Ibrahim Arief, former Director of Secondary Schools Kemendikbudristek Mulyatsyah, and former Director of Primary Schools Kemendikbudristek Sri Wahyuningsih.
