Audiotech Invests Rp490 Billion in Indonesia, Prepares Car Lights to Wipers for Aftermarket
Audiotech Asia Pasifik is strengthening its business expansion in Indonesia by entering the automotive aftermarket with the launch of various new products. The company is preparing an investment of around US$30 million, or approximately Rp490 billion, over the next three years to support product development, increase domestic production capacity, and digitalise its business processes. Business Director of Audiotech Asia Pasifik, Arman Soebroto, stated that Indonesia is one of the most potential markets in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the company is introducing products tailored to the character of local consumers while complying with the country’s automotive regulations. “For the automotive segment, we will enter all categories, from head lamps, fog lamps, grille lights, Android-based systems, car wash fluid, window film, wipers, to horns, and these are part of Conpex,” Arman told reporters at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Wednesday. Arman explained that Audiotech is a company based in Guangzhou, China. Although its products are marketed in various countries, the specifications brought to Indonesia are not uniform. Each product is first adapted to the needs of the local market, including the characteristics of vehicles used by Indonesians and the technical provisions set by the government. He noted that one of the most important adjustments is in the vehicle lighting system, as each country has different regulations regarding beam direction and driving safety standards. In Indonesia, which uses right-hand drive vehicles, all Audiotech lighting products are designed to meet these standards to ensure safety and comfort. “Every brand must adapt to the rules in each country. For lamps, we use blue lens technology designed according to the needs of the Indonesian market,” he clarified. In addition to meeting regulations, Audiotech also pays attention to Indonesian consumer preferences. Based on the company’s research, local vehicle users prefer lamp designs with a simple or flat shape because they are considered easier to install and adapt to vehicles. To maintain consumer trust, Audiotech provides a warranty of up to two years after purchase. Meanwhile, the price of the lamp products is marketed starting from under Rp1 million to around Rp1.5 million, making them expected to compete in the increasingly competitive aftermarket. Arman emphasised that all marketed products have undergone a series of quality tests before being sold to consumers. This step is taken to ensure a low product defect rate while maintaining performance and durability in long-term use.
