Audio video expo attractive

JAKARTA (JP): Much larger crowds than expected have attended
the first two days of a nine-day exhibition on audio and video
electronic devices here.

"An average of 45,000 visitors have been recorded each day,
which is way beyond our expectation," the organizer of Audio
Video Expo '96, Harry Moeffreni, said yesterday.

"The surprising figure shows that a growing number of people
need to know the current developments in the local electronics
industry," Harry was quoted as saying by Antara.

The fair, held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Central
Jakarta, from Sept. 7 to Sept. 15, was opened Monday by
Coordinating Minister for Production and Distribution Hartarto.
Opening hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Seventy-eight companies are taking part in the exhibition, the
third of its kind here. (bsr)
