Audi collaborates with SAIC to strengthen mobility strategy in China
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The German automotive manufacturer, Audi, has officially entered into a collaboration with SAIC Motor to strengthen their strategy in China’s notoriously competitive automotive market. Indianautosblog reported on Saturday (18/4) local time that this partnership between the two automotive companies is aimed at developing the next generation of electric vehicles and advanced digital technologies. To advance future automotive industry development, both parties have agreed to establish a new AUDI Innovation & Technology Centre in Shanghai, led by Audi AG. This facility will focus on developing smart electrification and connected vehicle technologies specific to the Chinese market, including AI-powered smart cabins and advanced driver assistance systems designed specifically for premium buyers. The partnership also encompasses four new models based on the next-generation Advanced Digitalisation Platform (ADP). These models will expand Audi’s product lineup previously exclusive to China, operating under a joint venture established in 2024. The upcoming models will be built on the newly introduced AUDI E5 Sportback (2025) and the E7X SUV, which will debut at the Beijing Auto China 2026 exhibition. A third model is planned for 2027, highlighting Audi’s aggressive roadmap in the world’s largest electric vehicle market. With a dedicated R&D centre and a new platform strategy, Audi is increasingly focusing on localised innovation to deliver smarter and more connected electric vehicles designed specifically for customers in China.
