JAKARTA (JP): Lucent Technologies Bell Labs Innovations, an
affiliate of the telecommunications giant American Telephone and
Telegraph Co. (AT&T) of the United States, introduced here
yesterday an integrated cabling system for building.
The system, called AT&T Systimax structured cabling system
solution, has basic standards, including those for digital voice,
video and data systems configurated with the programs of building
management systems, such as heating ventilating, air
conditioning, energy management, fire prevention and security and
access control.
The structured cabling system, which helps save construction
costs, is applicable for any buildings from airports to
universities.
Lucent, which earned an operating profit of $1.8 billion in
1995, is the fastest growing division of AT&T, with annual sales
increasing by an average of 9.9 percent in the last three years.
