The investigation team of the Attorney General’s Office has transferred former member of the Indonesian Ombudsman Yeka Hendra Fatika and evidence to the public prosecution team of the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office for immediate trial.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre Anang Supriatna said in Jakarta on Friday that the transfer relates to a corruption case involving the deliberate prevention, obstruction, and thwarting of investigation, prosecution, and court examination in a corruption case concerning the granting of crude palm oil export facilities and its derivatives in the palm oil industry during the period January–April 2022.

The public prosecution team of the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office will prepare the indictment and transfer the case file to the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta Class IA Special District Court.

Suspect Yeka, he said, provided a manipulated final investigation report to Marcella Santoso in exchange for a sum of money. The report was subsequently used as consideration by the corporate party in administrative court litigation and civil court litigation.

These rulings were used in the case of the corporate defendants to thwart the proof of the elements of the public prosecutor’s indictment.

The panel of judges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, after receiving bribes from Marcella Santoso, deliberately delayed proceedings to await the civil ruling based on the administrative court ruling and the manipulated final investigation report, then used it to acquit the corporate defendants on the grounds that the defendants’ actions did not constitute a criminal offence.
