Attorney General's Office Transfers Four Suspects in PT AKT Mining Corruption Case to Central Jakarta Prosecutors
The Attorney General’s Office has transferred evidence and four suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the mining management of PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup (AKT) to the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office. The handover of the second phase was carried out by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes to the public prosecution team on Thursday.
Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the transfer. The four suspects are BJW, the director of PT AKT; MJE, the owner and president commissioner of PT Cordelia Bara Utama; ST, the beneficial owner of PT AKT; and HZ, the general manager of PT OOWL Indonesia.
“These actions were carried out with the aim of benefiting oneself, others, or a corporation, and by abusing authority, opportunities, or means available due to position or status, resulting in state losses,” Anang stated.
For the purposes of proving the case, the four suspects have been detained for 20 days, from 23 July to 11 August 2026, based on a detention order from the Head of the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office. The Attorney General’s Office previously revealed that PT AKT, a holder of a Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement, had its permit revoked in 2017. However, the company allegedly continued to conduct mining activities and sell coal using invalid licensing documents in collaboration with state officials until 2025.
