Attorney General's Office to study legal avenues after acquittals of Junaedi Saibih and two others
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Attorney General’s Office (Kejaksaan Agung, Kejagung) will study the legal avenues to be pursued following the acquittal by a panel of judges of three defendants in a case alleging obstruction of investigations into several corruption cases. The three defendants are Cyber Army Team Coordinator M Adhiya Muzakki, former Jak TV News Director Tian Bahtiar, and lawyer Junaedi Saibih. The acquittal was read by Chief Judge Effendi in a session at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. When asked about the possibility of filing a cassation, Riono did not respond definitively. However, he stressed that the Attorney General’s Office remains committed to upholding the law. ‘We will continue to strive to uphold justice wherever possible,’ he said. For information, the three defendants were previously charged with obstructing investigations into three corruption cases handled by the Attorney General’s Office. The acquittal means the three have escaped criminal charges in this matter.
