Attorney General's Office to Question Former Special Crimes Prosecutor Febrie in Money Laundering Case Today

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is set to re-examine the former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, in relation to a money laundering case involving the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold and Rp543 billion in cash.

Febrie’s legal counsel, Febri Diansyah, stated that his client will be questioned by the Attorney General’s Office ‘Team 9’ investigators today, Thursday (3/9). He confirmed that his client will be cooperative and attend the summons.

“Mr FA will attend and cooperate with the legal process, accompanied by counsel. The examination is planned to take place at the Attorney General’s Office,” he told reporters.

He added that the examination will be conducted in Febrie’s capacity as a witness for other suspects in the money laundering case, namely Don Ritto and Nurman Herin.

“The examination of Mr FA is as a witness in the money laundering investigation. The summons does not yet specify which suspect he is testifying for,” he noted.

The Attorney General’s Office has previously named the former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, as a suspect in the money laundering case following the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold and Rp543 billion in cash at his residence in the Sentul area, Bogor.

Recently, the Attorney General’s Office also named private individuals Nurman Herin (NH) and lawyer Don Ritto (DR) as suspects for their alleged involvement in the money laundering scheme alongside Febrie.

The Head of Team 9 and Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Supervision, Rudi Margono, stated that the alleged money laundering was carried out by Febrie in his capacity as a prosecutor or structural official during his tenure at the Attorney General’s Office.

Meanwhile, Febrie has filed two pretrial motions at the South Jakarta District Court regarding this case. However, both motions were rejected by the single judge presiding over the South Jakarta District Court’s pretrial proceedings.
