Attorney General's Office to Examine Sony Sonjaya Tomorrow in MBG Corruption Case

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) will examine former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya as a suspect on Thursday (18/6) in relation to the alleged corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for 2025-2026. “Correct (he will be examined),”. said Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the examination will take place at the Round Building of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta. The suspects in this case include former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana, former Deputy Head of BGN for Organisational Development and Institutional Relations Lodewyk Pusung, former Deputy Head of BGN for Operational Nutrition Fulfilment Sony Sonjaya, Asep Yusuf Soemantri, and Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (YAT) Andri Mulyono. Sony had previously submitted himself as a justice collaborator to assist in uncovering the case. The request was conveyed through his legal counsel, Krisna Murti, to Jampidsus on Monday (8/6). According to him, Sony believes he has been portrayed as the party responsible for selling the kitchen points of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG), whereas there was pressure and direction from other parties. “The point is that all this time he has been cornered as the one who sold the kitchen points, the one who played around with the kitchens. Whereas according to Mr Sony, he was under pressure, there was attention,” Krisna revealed. “He was pressured by big names which he will convey himself later. He will present it in court. That he was pressured, that he was not the mastermind. Don’t assume that he was the one selling the kitchens. That was his consideration yesterday,” he added.
