The Attorney General’s Office has revealed that the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, along with his two deputies, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, unlawfully appointed affiliated foundations as partners for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG). This was disclosed by the Director of Investigation of the Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, in Jakarta on Wednesday, following the announcement of the three individuals as suspects in an alleged corruption case regarding the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the BGN for 2025–2026.

He explained that since 6 January 2025, the government has implemented the MBG programme, a national priority programme organised through the BGN, which provides free nutritious meals. The total budget for the programme is Rp85.27 trillion for 2025 and Rp268 trillion for 2026, sourced from the State Budget (APBN).

Given the massive budget allocation, the MBG programme was intended to be managed by foundations at each school. However, in practice, the foundations appointed as SPPG partners were used as vehicles for criminal activity and were affiliated with BGN officials or employees who did not meet the requirements to serve as partners.

“The SPPG partners were appointed by manipulating the verification process on the BGN partner portal through the intervention of the suspects,” he stated. “These affiliated foundations include those owned by Mr DH (Dadan Hindayana), Mr SS (Sony Sonjaya), and Mr LP (Lodewyk Pusung),” he added.

Furthermore, the three suspects are also alleged to have conducted procurement processes for goods and services within the BGN unlawfully. For their actions, the suspects are charged with violating Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20, letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 regarding the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001. The three suspects will undergo detention for the next 20 days at the Salemba Detention Centre, under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General’s Office and the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office.
