Attorney General's Office Seizes Luxury Watch at BGN Office, Worth the Equivalent of 10,000 MBG Portions

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) discovered a luxury watch during a search of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The search was conducted in connection with a case involving three suspects, namely the former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, and two former Deputy Heads of BGN, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung.

During the search of several rooms in the BGN office, Kejagung officers found various items, including a luxury watch, a Bell & Ross BR-X3 Blue Steel.

According to information on the official Bell & Ross website, the watch is sold for 7,000 Swiss Francs, or approximately IDR 158 million.

The value of the watch is equivalent to 10,533 portions of MBG, which currently has an allocated budget of IDR 15,000 per beneficiary.

This means that the funds equivalent to the price of one luxury watch could be used to provide nutritious food for more than 10,000 beneficiaries in the government’s flagship program.

According to the official website of the National Nutrition Agency, the budget allocation for the Free Nutritious Meal Program remains at IDR 15,000 per beneficiary, including during school holidays.

This provision is outlined in the Guidelines for the Implementation of the MBG Program During School Holidays, which was established through the Decree of the Head of BGN Number 52.1 of 2025.

In the guidelines, it is explained that the IDR 15,000 per portion is divided into several main components, including the cost of raw materials adjusted to the actual price of the menu served, operational costs for the program’s implementation, and rental costs calculated based on the average number of portions previously served by the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

To date, Kejagung continues to investigate the various findings obtained during the search of the BGN office.
